Brooklyn Aikikai - traditional Japanese dojo studying Aikido, Zen, and Misogi (in-person classes, adults and kids); student and kids’ class assistant instructor

La Familia Project - community-based enrichment programs in Brooklyn schools, transitional residence sites, and community centers (in-person classes, young adults); youth karate program director

Feldenkrais Method® Awareness Through Movement® classes

The Feldenkrais Method is a somatic method of learning. Awareness Through Movement (ATM) classes create conditions to deepen an awareness of how you use yourself, and expand your potential for action. Each class is an invitation to slow down. Expect an hour-long verbally-guided process of slow, gentle movement punctuated by pauses for integration.

5 Lines - Feldenkrais Method® Awareness Through Movement® Classes

Recruited and organized 16 Awareness Through Movement teachers to teach, including classes in Spanish. Developed teacher policies and class schedules. Leading internal communications, project managing, and teaching.

Self-Defense Workshops

Leading self-defense workshops for women, trans, and non-binary folks. Workshops will cover awareness training, nervous system regulation, self-defense techniques, vital striking points, and proper fighting form.

Girl Scouts of America - Trailblazer Backpacking Trips

Co-leading outdoors excursion trips in the New York region for Brooklyn-based Girl Scouts (aged 10-12). Overnight backcountry trip (Fall 2023, 2 days/1 night), river excursion trip (upcoming: Spring 2024).


Past Projects

Emerson College Teach-In On Sustainability (2023, 2024) - Led workshops on Sustainability for Your Self (UN Sustainability Goal No. 3) as part of a week-long series of sustainability-based workshops at Emerson College. Taught Feldenkrais Method Awareness Through Movement Classes and facilitated discussions on how to regulate overactive fear responses, and dysregulated nervous systems.

Feldenkrais Institute of San Diego - Oversaw the Feldenkrais Institute of San Diego (2022). Tasks included property management, teacher training administration for two concurrent programs, and institutional accreditation support.

Abundance Conference 2022 - Speaker at global online conference, speaker theme: The Feldenkrais Method and Awareness Through Movement Classes. Other workshops covered Visual Arts and Perception, and Negotiation Skills. Participants joined from the UK, Israel, Russia, and across North America.

Soundscapes - Recorded soundscapes through the pandemic; celebrating the rise of nature’s ambient sounds during this period of quietude, and the process of record-keeping through audio clips.

Brooklyn Book Club - Facilitated in-person Awareness Through Movement classes to supplement Brooklyn book clubs reading “Breath” by James Nestor. Created a four-part class series around this material.

LEAF Global Arts Festival 2022 - Interpreted Bach Cello Suites into Feldenkrais-based martial-arts derived movement patterns, inviting audience participation. An in-person collaboration with cellist Stephanie Winters and singer Paula Henke. Included segments where cellist, singer, and mover improvised with one another.

OCD NYC - Managed business, operations, and patient communications for a clinic specializing in OCD & Related Disorders. Tasks included managing the gut renovation of a 5-office suite in Midtown Manhattan, property rental and management, evaluating and implementing Electronic Medical Record systems, devising compliance procedures for HIPAA and COVID-19, acquiring and maintaining clinical licensure in FL and NY, developing OCD NYC website and marketing materials, and hiring and managing key business teams: finance, legal, IT. (2018-2022)

Brooklyn Aikikai Journals - Published in three Brooklyn Aikikai journals. Journal themes: Forgiveness, The Veil, Pandemic Years.

QPOC Foraging Forays - Collaborated with the New York Mycological Society, organized mushroom walks for NY/NJ-based QPOC folks.
